Barn Theatres
The new building provides three laminar flow operating theatres in an open plan 'barn' configuration and includes recovery, 10 day patient beds, 14 inpatient beds and all associated ancillary accommodation.
The 3,481m² building has clinical accommodation at ground floor level, plant space at first floor and will connect to the existing hospital via a covered walkway. Works also include the construction of a new sub-station, infrastructure connections as well as hard and soft landscaping.
As part of the NHS drive towards Net Zero Carbon and sustainable construction, the project is targeting BREEAM 'Excellent'.
