Govan Old Church

Govan Old Parish Church

Plans are underway to transform the Category A Listed former Govan Old Church into a cultural hub for Govan Heritage Trust.

The redevelopment will see the adaption and extension of the existing building, while the creation of flexible space will provide future proofing and deliver a range of new functions for the local community.

Office space, toilets and lift access will allow the church to host events such as weddings and public gatherings. A ‘cloister’ will be created from the new build extension, linking the existing building with its modern addition.

Other phases of the overall development are set to deliver lettable commercial space, including studios to the North along with full internal refurbishment works and landscaping improvements. The Govan Stones, a key attraction within the grounds, will be given more prominence for an altogether enhanced visitor experience.

The project is part of the wider regeneration of Govan and aims to bring social and economic benefits to the local community.
