IFA2 (Interconnexion France-Angleterre 2)
Constructed by a joint venture between National Grid and Réseau de Transport d'Electricité (RTE), IFA2 is a 1000 megawatt link that runs from Fareham in Hampshire on the south coast of England to Tourbe, Normandy in northern France, covering 240km across the English Channel.
This link further integrates the British and French electricity markets, enabling the green energy transition and helping to bring the UK a step closer to its Net Zero targets.
