John Dewar & Sons Poniel
G&T has worked for Bacardi’s Scotch whisky arm John Dewar & Sons for over 12 years.
During this time the firm has acted as cost consultant on the 100 acre masterplan of their Poniel site which led to the delivery of bonded warehouses, a tank farm, a blend centre.
The masterplan features 18, 8,000m² warehouses (each of which can hold up to 72,000 casks). The blend centre introduces new technology to enhance water addition, mixing and control spirit strength - as well as energy-efficient conveyers that transport casks on pallets.
Project Poniel was successfully completed in seven phases over a number of years and paved the way for a second masterplan, Poniel South, which will offer a further 20 large-span warehouses.
