St John's
St John's is a £1bn development by Allied London on the former Granada Studios site - the location of the famous Coronation Street set until its move to the new MediaCity. The redevelopment is a continuation of G&T's relationship with Allied London, from the successful development of Spinningfields, just across the road from the new site.
The proposed buildings comprise a new warehouse event space with an 1,800 seat theatre, two 'villages' of workspace, residential and retail, the redevelopment of the old Granada Studios into a hotel, offices, residential, studios and event space complex, and four 36 storey towers and three low rise buildings providing hotels and residential. There will also be two sets of towers, between 20 and 46 storeys, forming 'vertical' villages of residential, retail and amenity space.
