English Heritage Volunteering Day
G&T takes to the grounds at historic Wrest Park
In the heart of the grounds of Wrest Park, one of English Heritage’s most spectacular sites, volunteers from G&T and Argent tended the borders and mulched the trees as part of an English Heritage volunteering day.
"I am proud to represent G&T and help restore the grounds of this beautiful mansion house in Bedfordshire."Jon Eyles, G&T
Led by G&T Partner, Jon Eyles, the team took to the grounds for a day of hard work, trimming the borders and restoring the trees that form a vital part of the site’s historic landscape.
The day outside was followed by a tour of the house, which included an exclusive look into the rarely opened Wallpaper Room that holds intricately hand-painted Chinese and French style wallpapers.
G&T is founding member of the English Heritage Stone Circle fundraising initiative. In 2015 English Heritage was given charity status and now has the freedom outside of government to determine its future.
The Stone Circle is part of an ambitious programme to raise £75 million in the next seven years, with £33 million needed in the next three years in order to meet its immediate objectives.
"The volunteering day was a great event to be involved with. We were mulching the grounds and spreading compost around the trees that helps to give them life"Ben Cooper, Argent
