G&T Volunteers with Special Olympics
This summer G&T's New York office volunteered to assist the Special Olympics athletes with softball practice, after volunteering back in February to participate in the Young Leaders Committee’s Special Olympics basketball initiative.
Special Olympics is an international organization that changes lives by promoting understanding, acceptance and inclusion between people with and without intellectual disabilities.
Their goal is to provide year-round sports training and athletics competition in a variety of Olympics-style sports to promote courage, joy, sharing and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
The Special Olympics softball practices are held on Sundays throughout the summer at Central Park. The volunteers are usually from New York Cares or CoreNet.
