Hub South West
As part of the first phase of the Scottish Government's £1bn schools investment programme, G&T has been appointed to deliver the new Maybole Community Campus on behalf of Hub South West.
G&T has worked continuously since 2013 on new build and transformational schools projects for Hub South West on behalf of South Ayrshire Council.
The new BDP designed Maybole 'super school' will replace Carrick Academy, Cairn Primary School, Gardenrose Primary School and St Cuthbert's Primary School and will provide secondary, primary and early years education along with shared community facilities, all-weather pitches and a swimming pool.
"G&T has worked successfully with Hub SW across the development and delivery of over £100m of education projects and their appointment ensures confidence and best value in the development of the Maybole Campus."Craig Young, Project Director Hub South West
Craig Young, Project Director Hub South West said, "Hub SW is delighted to have appointed G&T for the delivery of Project Management, Cost Management and Principal Designer services on this prestigious project. G&T has worked successfully with Hub SW across the development and delivery of over £100m of education projects and their appointment ensures confidence and best value in the development of the Maybole Campus."
Maybole is part of a two-stream commission which will also see a new Prestwick Primary delivered for Hub SW and South Ayrshire Council. This appointment follows G&T's involvement in the sensitive extension and refurbishment of the Listed Marr College in Troon and the newly built Ayr Academy, both of which completed in 2017.
"We have worked closely with Hub South West and South Ayrshire Council to deliver ongoing improved value for money on a number of major capital projects. These projects reflect significant progress made towards transforming educational facilities in South Ayrshire."Sandy Park, G&T Partner
Meanwhile, the new 800 pupil Queen Margaret Academy, A DBFM project, is nearing completion and due to open next month.
