Bringing people back together after a two-year hiatus - G&T sponsored the NextGen Reception at The London Real Estate Forum (LREF) 2021. Guests heard first-hand about the climate change danger from world-renowned explorer Pen Hadow and the importance of supporting apprenticeships and training for the next generation from G&T Associate and NextGen Champion, Uwais Paderwala.
With many guests having attended the conference sessions throughout the day and taken part in panel discussions on some of the industry’s biggest challenges, the NextGen reception encourages guests to exchange ideas and recent experiences - creating lasting connections that foster greater collaboration and knowledge sharing across the industry.
“It was a privilege to represent G&T and talk about my experience as an apprentice. The NextGen reception gets everyone talking, sharing ideas and working together towards a collective goal.”Uwais Paderwala
G&T Associate and NextGen Champion
Guests at the reception first heard from G&T Associate, Uwais Paderwala, on the NextGen Sounding Board’s key priorities over the next 12 months – sustainability, education and governance. Uwais went on to speak about his experience as an apprentice and how this influenced his career to date.
Following this, Pen Hadlow, World Explorer and Coach, took to the stage as the evening’s keynote speaker. Pen picked up on the key priority of sustainability and how the climate emergency will require us all to think quickly and innovatively if we are to meet our current net zero targets.
G&T has supported the NextGen activity at LREF since it first began seven years ago. We understand the importance of giving the next generation a platform to share their ideas and have their voices heard, encouraging them to build multi-disciplinary relationships across the industry and expand their networks.
