G&T is excited to partner with 15 Billion EBP, a charity focussing on transforming the futures of young people and members of local communities.

As a firm we strongly believe in driving positive social change within the places we work. Partnering with 15 Billion EBP will help promote education, diversity and inclusion within the built environment, working with schools, employers and local authorities to improve social mobility.

15 Billion EBP is an inspiring charity working across all sectors bringing together schools, employers and other partners to inspire people to achieve their potential and thrive in their future careers. The charity will help us to deliver a variety of activities which will allow us to fulfill important social value commitments, creating opportunities for mentoring, career advice and skills building for individuals in schools or boroughs where they might not otherwise have them.

"Meaningful interaction with those working in the sector is invaluable for young people to understand career paths, skills and the reality of the incredibly diverse jobs within the built environment. We are so grateful for our partnership with Gardiner & Theobald's NewGen that will help enable this for those who may not otherwise get the opportunity."

Anne-Marie

15 Billion EBP Programme Manager

Most recently 15 Billion EBP helped us to deliver a virtual careers carousel. 30 Year 12 students from Heathcote School and Barking and Dagenham College were invited to meet with industry professionals for a job skills workshop. Students worked their way through different activities, learning valuable job seeking skills and finding out more about the built environment with the help of experienced industry volunteers from across all areas of the built environment.

“I really enjoyed the event, learning the different ways people get into the construction industry and meeting multiple people with different responsibilities from the same industry.”

Kate-Lyn

Heathcote School

Other opportunities include 15 Billion EBP’s mentoring programme which supports the academic growth of students by encouraging the development of employability skills, providing them with invaluable insight into the world of work and the industry. We look forward to working with the charity, building relationships with individuals interested in pursuing a career in the industry and giving back to the communities we work in.

This partnership forms part of G&T’s Community Engagement initiative which focusses on five key strands of activity one of which is Education. Other strands include Homelessness, Physical Health, Mental Health and Protecting the Environment.
