Through our partnership with the City Property Association’s (CPA) and Westminster Property Association’s (WPA) NextGen initiatives we are excited to announce G&T’s new WPA and CPA NextGen representatives, senior associate Cal Matthews (WPA) and executive surveyor Emma Burton (CPA).
As WPA and CPA NextGen committee members Cal and Emma will sit alongside a select group of built environment professionals from a variety of backgrounds including agents, architects, developers and investors supporting the future of the City and Westminster. The committee members come from some of the industry’s top organisations such as Grosvenor, Landsec, HBReavis, The Crown Estate and Built I-D, all of which are dedicated to building meaningful relationships with upcoming industry professionals whilst acting as a sounding board for the next generation of leaders.
“I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to work with the CPA on their NextGen committee representing G&T and the future generation to shape the city, whilst promoting young people in the profession.”Emma Burton
G&T Executive Surveyor
Emma Burton - Emma joined G&T as a graduate in 2015 going on to successfully pass her APC in 2018. Since then she has worked largely in the residential sector, with specific experience in high end residential schemes. In her new role Emma is looking forward to creating multi-disciplinary networks across the sector showcasing collaboration amongst younger members of the industry.
“I am extremely proud to be given the opportunity to represent G&T on the WPA NextGen Committee. I look forward to giving the next generation a voice in how we create a more sustainable, diverse and inclusive industry, whilst re-connecting people post pandemic.”Cal Matthews
G&T Senior Associate
Cal Matthews - Cal joined G&T in 2017 and has been working on Google’s new Kings Cross office headquarters for the last 3.5 years. Alongside this he has advised a number of developers and occupiers on high profile commercial office schemes within Westminster and London, as well as experience working on high end senior living developments. Cal’s experience and connections will bring a wealth of knowledge to the WPA committee allowing him to support London in becoming net-zero.
In 2019 G&T became sponsors of the CPA’s NextGen programme, quickly followed by the WPA’s NextGen initiative in 2020. Both the CPA and WPA are not-for-profit organisations representing major owners, developers, occupiers, investors and advisors to real estate in both the City of London and Westminster.
"We want to embrace and encourage change in the sector."Rosie Day
London Property Alliance Director
As the Square Mile and Westminster slowly begin to reopen, the future of London as we know it is changing. NextGen initiatives such as the WPA, CPA and G&T’s NextGen programmes have never been more important, promoting collaboration across the built environment during a time where is needed the most.
Over the past year we have enjoyed working with the CPA and WPA, adapting their programmes so they continue to bring networks together and creating platforms for future leaders to have their say from virtual roundtables and networking events to webinars on flexible working, smart cities and much more.
