G&T sponsors the Association of Women in Property's Central Scotland branch throughout 2022
G&T is delighted to team up with the Association of Women in Property Central Scotland on a range of upcoming events. The branch has over 190 members, which grew during the pandemic as events moved online in response to members’ immediate needs. Sessions ranged from wellbeing and personal development seminars to technical CPD and breakout room networking – creating a community at a time when many felt isolated.
With an interesting programme of virtual and in-person events on their schedule this year, the Association continues to see month on month membership growth. Inclusive events for all genders with sustainability and wellbeing at their core is the focus for Central Scotland Chair Mairi Murray. Since January the branch has delivered 19 events including a family law webinar, netwalking series and networking lunches, a practical Passivhaus session, site visits and personalised coaching.

Mairi Murray, Central Scotland Chair said: "We are delighted with G&T's continued support. This commitment assists Women in Property to showcase the wealth of built environment projects underway and enables us to offer unique site visits and events that enrich our membership. G&T's sponsorship is invaluable to our programme of events throughout 2022 and Jill's role as Women in Property Scotland's social media co-ordinator has made a huge impact. We are very thankful for the backing G&T provides."
G&T’s Glasgow based marketing executive, Jillian Love joined as a member in 2019 and valued the range of online events on offer throughout 2020 and 2021. She organised a G&T-hosted panel webinar on the commercial space sector in January and became a committee member in March 2022. Jill said: “In 2021 I noticed that the majority of site visits were G&T projects - The Burrell Collection, Paisley Museum, Hill House and Haymarket Edinburgh were on the event calendar. Delivering these and other high-profile projects in Glasgow and Edinburgh, I realised G&T was ideally placed to support the Association of Women in Property’s objectives for the year ahead – helping to create opportunities, expand knowledge and inspire change for women working in the property and construction industry.”
The first G&T sponsored event of 2022 focused on FORE’s Cadworks development - the first building in Glasgow to achieve net zero carbon in operation. As project and cost managers on the development, G&T helped facilitate ‘A Conversation with Aurelien Collignon of FORE Partnership’. Aurelien shared key drivers behind Cadworks and FORE’s plans to refurbish existing building stock to net zero standards. A subsequent tour of the building is scheduled to take place during the Doors Open Day Festival in September.
On 7th July G&T sponsored a site tour and gin tasting session at the Lime and Lind Gin Distillery at Port of Leith where it delivered Cost Management services alongside lead designers Threesixty Architecture. The tour was a great opportunity to see the finished building - Scotland’s first vertical distillery - whilst making new industry connections.

At the end of July G&T is also sponsoring a site visit to 177 Bothwell Street - Glasgow’s largest single office development, recently cost managed by G&T. The tour is being led by HFD Property Group’s Managing Director, Stephen Lewis, who will give an insight into the innovative WELL systems and sustainable approach behind this 13-storey net zero carbon building in operation. The year will end with another space panel discussion, this time from a sustainability perspective.
The Association of Women in Property operates 13 branches throughout the UK and their range of UK wide events are open to members and non-members. If you would like to know more visit https://www.womeninproperty.org.uk/.
