Good Food For Good Causes
Led by director Priya Majeethia and partner Daniel Webster a team of G&T project managers volunteered their time to support the The Felix Project charity, a non-for-profit organisation that does vital work to fight food poverty and hunger.
The London based food distribution charity works to fight food waste and hunger by rescuing good, surplus food, that would otherwise go to waste and redistributing it to front-line charities, primary schools and holiday programmes in London.
"Thank you to everyone at Gardiner & Theobald for your fantastic work volunteering at The Felix Project, we really couldn't do it without the support from firms such as yourselves."Tanya Mitchell
The Felix Project
11 G&T volunteers took part in the day helping in one of the charity's warehouses, packaging, preparing and distributing food to be sent out to schools and charities across east London. Through taking part the team helped the charity with its important work, supporting the delivery of 29 million meals to over 1,000 non-for-profit organisations and keeping 12,149 tonnes (or 90 blue whales) of good food out of landfill each year.
The event forms part of G&T's Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) programme, where project teams are encouraged to give back to the communities we help build. By supporting charities such as The Felix Project G&T is able to make a huge impact in not only our local area but London as a whole.
"It was a rewarding and humbling experience to spend time at The Felix Project, packing over 2000 servings in 4 hours, to support those struggling to put food on the table. A tremendous effort by the team!"Dan Webster
