Earls Court Masterplan is one of the largest urban redevelopments in London. A joint venture between Capco and Transport for London, Earl's Court redevelopment began in 2013 and aims to provide 10,000 new jobs for the local community.
Following the demolition of the existing buildings Earl's Court 1 and 2, the current works involve de-risking the site for future development. This will create a new high street and open spaces, health facilities, new schools and a hub for the community. It will also significantly improve the transport and infrastructure of the local area.
The largest crane in London arrived on site in November 2016 and was part of the land enabling works. The crane was used to remove 61 concrete beams from site over an 11 month period. It stood at 120m tall and can lift up to 3200T. The lifts took place at night following a bespoke access agreement with London Underground.
