Ebury Bridge Estate

Ebury Bridge is one of Westminster City Council’s flagship regeneration projects and represents the largest council home delivery in South Westminster in five decades. This ambitious scheme aims to transform a 1930s estate into a sustainable and modern neighbourhood, delivering 781 high-quality homes, including 370 for social rent.

The project aligns with Westminster’s Fairer Westminster strategy, ensuring high-quality, affordable housing in the heart of London. In addition to residential improvements, the development will include new public spaces, retail outlets and community facilities to enhance the wellbeing of residents.

Phase 1 of the project has been successfully completed, marking a significant milestone in Westminster’s efforts to provide sustainable housing solutions. This phase delivered 226 new homes, including 100 council homes, 110 market sale homes and 16 returning leaseholder homes.

Following the success of Phase 1, Phase 2 will deliver approximately 337 additional homes, alongside private and shared outdoor spaces, retail and community facilities as well as enhanced public areas. A new northern gateway will improve connectivity through the development, integrating mixed-use spaces with residential areas.

The new homes have been designed with sustainability at the forefront, achieving a BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ rating and the regeneration incorporates cutting-edge sustainability measures, such as ground source heat pumps for heating and cooling, greywater recycling and blue roofs to manage water efficiently. These innovations ensure that the new homes contribute to a low-carbon, energy-efficient future.

G&T has been providing services on the scheme since RIBA Stage 0/1.

Social value activities

Ebury Winter Warmer 2021

G&T donated to support Ebury's Winter Warmer event. The contribution helped support residents on the Ebury estate who had been living with construction works taking place around them and provided them with hot foods and gifts for their households.

Ebury Bridge Edge Fest

Members of the G&T project team volunteered at Ebury Bridge's Edge Fest, a community event to meet with residents and showcase opportunities within the built environment. We also contributed to the cost of food for residents at the event.

Ebury Bridge Building Future Skills

Organised by Construction Youth Trust and the wider project team, G&T took part in the Ebury Building Future Skills event aimed at inspiring and engaging with young people about opportunities for future career development.
