Lord's - Compton and Edrich Stands

The second phase of the cricket ground's updated Masterplan sees the demolition and replacement of the existing Compton and Edrich Stands either side of the award-winning Media Centre at the Nursery End of the ground.

Designed by WilkinsonEyre, the new three-tiered stands will include integrated amenities and provide vastly improved sightlines for seats at lower levels. The stands will be linked by a walkway behind the Media Centre and will provide an extra 2,500 seats, increasing the ground's capacity to 31,000.

The project also involves relocating two floodlights, new hospitality, catering and retail facilities together with hard and soft landscaping. There will also be wheelchair accessible spaces as well as lift access to all levels.

A ‘rapid build design sequence’ has been developed to minimise interruption to matches and the new stands are expected to be ready for initial use during the 2020 season and fully fitted out by summer 2021.
