MSG SphereStudios
The project involved the construction of a 30,000 sq ft purpose-built studio on a two-acre site, to house content testing for MSG’s Sphere venue in Las Vegas and included a 95’ high, double-layer geodesic tensile structure with a 75’ x 75’ half-spherical LED screen. In addition to this, 70,000 sq ft of post-production studios were constructed in a neighboring office building to support the studio operation.
The superstructure and tensile fabric were constructed as a modular “kit of parts” while the mission-critical server room, conference rooms and bathrooms were all fabricated off site.
The studio project took 12 months to design, permit and construct and was procured using a design & build approach. The post production spaces took another eight months to complete independently.
