Strathclyde Sport brings together academic space and recreational sports into one new purpose built facility for the University of Strathclyde.
Facilities include a state of the art gym with more than 180 pieces of fitness kit, a 25m six lane swimming pool, two large multi-functional sports halls, two squash courts and a dance studio. The sports centre also offers health assessments together with lifestyle and nutrition consultations while the flexible teaching space will support students on sports courses.
The facility will also be a regular training and event venue for Scotland’s national netball team - the Scottish Thistles – following a long-term partnership agreement between Strathclyde Sport and Netball Scotland.
The £31m facility is part of the wider investment in Strathclyde’s estate and will support health and wellbeing for the entire university as well as the local community.
