Awards Season Sees a String of Successes for G&T
This awards season has seen an array of our projects receive regional, national and international recognition for their impressive construction and contribution to the industry. We’ve rounded up some of the highlights below…
BCO Regional Awards 2019
Kicking off awards season with series of successes, the BCO Regional Awards saw a host of G&T projects recognised for their top quality functionality and design, setting a high standard for projects in the office sector.
The London Awards in April saw the Facebook office space receive the Commercial Workplace Award, with Fora Borough picking up the Innovation Award.

These were followed by the Scotland Awards in May, where the KPMG Edinburgh refurbishment won the Fit-Out of Workplace Award. G&T delivered Cost and Project Management services on this award winning project which transformed 24,000 sq ft of Grade A office space into a collaborative working environment. Threesxity Architecture Studio also picked up the Projects up to 1,500m² Award, while One St Andrew Street, Edinburgh was Highly Commended in the Refurbished Recycled Workplace category.
Wrapping up the BCO Regional Awards, No.1 Spinningfields was announced as the winner of the Commercial Workplace Award at the BCO North Awards. This 340,000 sq ft office development acts as an anchor within Manchester’s Spinningfields business district.
RICS Regional Awards 2019
Spanning across the month of May, the RICS Regional Awards saw a multitude of G&T projects celebrated for their excellence in construction and infrastructure.
Kicking us off at the London Awards was the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Galleries at Westminster Abbey which won two awards: Project of the Year and the Building Conservation Award. London Wall Place – for which G&T provided Cost Management, Employer’s Agent and Project Management services – also picked up the Commercial Award. On the same day, the Scotland Awards saw Music Hall Transformation, Aberdeen, win the Community Benefit Award.
The South East Awards took place in mid-May, and with them came another two wins for G&T projects. Westgate, Oxford, picked up both Project of the Year and the Commercial Award, while The Lexicon, Bracknell was the recipient of the Regeneration Award.
G&T’s series of successes at the RICS Regional Awards concluded in the South West, with Bristol Old Vic being awarded both Project of the Year and the Building Conservation Award. We provided Cost Management services on this award winning project which saw the multi-million pound redevelopment of the oldest continuously working theatre in the English speaking world.
RIBA London Regional Awards 2019
May’s RIBA London Awards celebrated nine G&T projects that received recognition for their architectural excellence and contribution to the UK capital’s construction industry.
The Ned received special recognition as the winner of the RIBA London Project Architect of the Year Award 2019. G&T provided Construction & Property Tax Advice, Cost Management services, Principal Designer & CDM Consultancy and Project Management services for this complex 340,000 sq ft hotel extension.

RIBA East Regional Awards 2019
Continuing this success at the RIBA Regional Awards 2019, the Simon Sainsbury Centre at Cambridge Judge Business School won a RIBA East Award, later picking up a RIBA National Award 2019. G&T provided Cost Management, Cost Planning and Life Cycle Costing services on this multi-award-winning project.
RIBA South Regional Awards 2019
A further two award winning projects came with the RIBA South Regional Awards. G&T provided Cost Management, Employer’s Agent and Life Cycle Costing services on Places Leisure Eastleigh, as well as Construction & Property Tax Advice, Cost Management services, Employer’s Agent services and Principal Designer & CDM Consultancy on Westgate Centre, Oxford.
RIBA National Awards 2019
The prestigious RIBA National Awards are awarded to projects which have made significant contributions to the industry.
This June saw a host of G&T projects receive such recognition, including the impressive refurbishment of Coal Drops Yard for which G&T provided Cost Management, Cost Planning, Employer’s Agent and Life Cycle Costing services. The project, which involved maintaining historic architectural details, also picked up a RIBA London Award 2019.

NLA Awards 2019
The NLA Awards 2019 saw more of our projects recognised as some of the best across all sectors of the built environment.
The Aga Khan Centre, for which G&T provided Cost Management services, was selected as the winner of the People’s Choice Award. The 10,000m² centre in London’s King’s Cross provides a new home for a number of UK-based organisations founded by his highness the Aga Khan.
The following G&T projects were also recognised:

International Hotel & Property Awards 2019
Hosted by interior design magazine design et al, the International Hotel and Property Awards recognise design and construction excellence in the hotel and hospitality sector.
G&T project the Hard Rock Hotel London was selected as the 2019 winner of the Best Bar/Club/Lounge in Europe.
